Business needs a balanced, proportionate and reasonable Gambling Review

Where better to gauge the mood of the industry than at a busy stand at a leading exhibition? At January’s EAG show David Purvis, Managing Director of Blueprint Operations picked-up on the impatience and frustration at the delays in publishing the long-awaited government white paper.

The introduction of a balanced proportionate and reasonable Gambling Act which includes the ability to offer gaming machine players the opportunity to use cashless payments methods were top of the wish list of operators visiting the impressive Blueprint Operations stand at EAG, the leading exhibition for the amusements and gaming entertainment industry.

Blueprint Managing Director David Purvis, said the delay in publishing the white paper is causing anxiety among operators. He explained: “The feedback I received was of an industry that’s hugely frustrated at the delay in publishing. Low stake gambling entertainment operators are major contributors to local and regional economies and their hope is that the white paper will provide a framework for a modern new gambling act which is fair, progressive and which has responsible gambling at its core.”
