MERKUR Community Programme Recognised for Supporting 300 Grassroots Charities

The MERKUR Community programme, which was launched to provide essential support for smaller charities and good causes, has been recognised by the EAG Expo which is the UK’s biggest business-to-business exhibition catering for the broadly-based out of home entertainment sector.

Since its launch, MERKUR Community has supported 300 outstanding charities and good causes that have been nominated by customers and colleagues.

In 2025 alone over £200,000 of support was donated to 150 organisations many of which rely on the generosity of the business world to continue to support their local communities.

Good causes to have received support in 2025 include the Milton Keynes Food Bank, Nova Sports Wheelchair Basketball Club, Rays of Sunshine, The Motor Neurone Disease Association, Little Lifts, Brain Tumour Research and the Momentum charity which supports families whose children are facing life-challenging conditions.

Reflecting on the accolade MERKUR UK General Manager Sascha Blodau said: “I am delighted that the MERKUR Community scheme has been recognised in this way.

“The cost-of-living crisis has significantly affected fundraising, putting at risk the very existence of many of the smaller charities and good causes that are the backbone of local communities throughout the country.

“The support that we are able to provide has helped to sustain organisations enabling them to continue their invaluable work supporting individuals and families who are less fortunate.”
