MERKUR UK is helping other brands in the industry to encourage safer gambling.
The company broke new ground by becoming the first gambling entertainment brand to sponsor the Social Responsibility Exchange run by UK trade association Bacta.
The Exchange which was held in Birmingham at the end of October was an industry-wide forum for staff to share their insights and experience of engaging with machine players.
It also featured a key note address delivered by Mandy Gill, the Gambling Commission’s Director of Industry and Specialist Knowledge.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Director of Public and Political Relations, Tony Boulton said: “The Exchange complemented our 360 Safer Gambling Program which we launched three-years ago.
“We believe safer gambling is a culture which staff need to live by and which can only be achieved courtesy of on-going training and development.
“Bacta’s SR Exchange was an extension of that philosophy and we were delighted to support such a positive initiative.”
Welcoming the support, Bacta Chief Executive John White stated: “Bacta members such as MERKUR UK have made great strides in terms of their commitment to safer gambling and initiatives such as the 360 Program have contributed to the record low levels of problem gambling which now exist in the UK.”
