MERKUR UK secures double success at industry awards

Setting new standards and having a commitment to be number 1 sit at the heart of MERKUR UK’s winning philosophy

Showpiece industry business event the EAG Expo was the venue for the annual bacta awards which recognise the outstanding organisations and individuals working in the industry.

Once again MERKUR UK grabbed the headlines with Blueprint Operations’ Harry Husley winning the Jimmy Thomas Rising Star Award and MERKUR Group UK recognised for its environmental commitments in the Green Giant category.

Harry’s citation outlined his career path joining as Technical Support Adviser in 2016 progressing through the ranks as Business Development Coordinator, Business Development Executive on to his current role as Account Manager.

Responsible for managing 150 of the company’s key accounts Harry was described as being ‘an inspirational role model and a worthy winner.’

MERKUR Group UK’s environmental programme is without compare in the amusements and low stake gaming entertainment sector.

In 2021 the Group partnered with The National Trust which is the biggest conservation charity in Europe – underwriting the cost of planting 1,500 trees in support of the Trust’s Woodland Appeal.

In 2022/2023 working with the Ecologi platform it supported a small-scale wind farm in the process avoiding the emission of 2000 tons of CO2 – equivalent to almost 5 million car miles or 1,500 long haul flights: it also funded the planting of 25,000 trees in southern Kenya.

The Group which is extending its commitments in 2024 was recognised for setting the industry gold standard for environmentally friendly programs.
