Regal demonstrate commitment to promote from within

Regal Gaming and Leisure, which operates 9,000 pub gaming machines and 5,000 pieces of ancillary equipment including pool tables and juke boxes, has strengthened its customer-facing team with the appointment of three new Business Development Managers. Carl Turner and Hayley Macklin-Brown join Regal’s Exeter Service Centre with Sallyanne Mead reporting to Dean Rockall, Manager of the London East Service Centre.

As part of its philosophy to develop and nurture talent from within the company, Regal has taken the opportunity to promote Carl Turner, who joined the company over eight years ago previously serving as both a Workshop Engineer and most recently as a Service Engineer. Carl believes that having a breadth of experience is an important attribute. He confirmed: “Having a good understanding of the operational side of the business, as I’ve performed several roles, is a real bonus. My technical background means that I can speak openly with customers about the practicalities and help to manage their expectations. That said, it has been a steep learning curve understanding the more commercial side of the business but one that I am excited about.”

Post-Covid, the dynamics of the market have changed bringing a new dimension to the role. “Sourcing equipment to keep up with demand has certainly been a challenge but one that we have been able to address through meticulous forward planning” he agreed. “Additionally, our service centre’s patch has increased considerably, both in terms of geography and the number of pieces on site, so getting to know the new areas we are servicing has been interesting. From a personal perspective I am most looking forward to continuing to grow my commercial knowledge and building strong relationships with my new customer base – after all, this industry is all about the relationships and the dialogue that you build with your customers.”

Clive Barrett, Customer Service and Sales Director at Regal added: “I am really delighted to welcome Carl, Hayley and Sallyanne to our industry leading team.  All three bring a compelling combination of experience, expertise and energy and will enable us to grow our reach in the leased and tenanted, free trade and managed business as well as continue to provide the ‘best in class’ customer service that’s at the heart of the Regal business philosophy. With respect to Carl, it’s always pleasing to be able to promote from within and to be able to offer team members the opportunity to progress and develop. The Regal brand is leading the digital revolution in pub gaming and we continue to work in partnership with our customers in order to drive machine revenues and contribute to their bottom-line profitability.”
