Runners Complete Half Marathon in Aid of Brain Tumour Research

Blueprint’s Holly Abel and Jordan Kennedy received a fund raising boost courtesy of the MERKUR Community fund when they completed the Brighton Half Marathon in aid of cancer charity Brain Tumour Research.

Running in memory of family member Ann Zommers who was diagnosed with grade 4 glioblastoma in September 2023 and who sadly passed away in July last year, the Blueprint duo became the 150th good cause in the last 12-months to receive support from MERKUR UK’s progressive social purpose fund.

With just 1 percent of national cancer funding allocated towards the disease Brain Tumour Research is aiming to increase national investment to £35 million per year. The efforts of ‘team Blueprint’ will help to fund research aimed at developing better treatments, improving early diagnosis and ultimately finding a cure.

Tony Boulton MERKUR UK’s Director of Public and Political Relations said: “Providing support to a cause which receives such modest state funding and which is personal to members of the team is what MERKUR Community was created to address and we are delighted to add to the fantastic efforts of our two Blueprint runners.”

In addition to Brain Tumour Research in the opening three months of 2025 MERKUR Community has supported a broad range of charities and good causes including Willens Hospice, the Momentum Children’s Charity, Kent Wildlife Trust, Milton Keynes Foodbank, Little Lifts Breast Cancer Charity, the Renewal Programme and the Children’s Bereavement Centre in Newark
