Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance Benefits from Birthday Donation

It’s a year since MERKUR opened its casino in Aberdeen adding a new and important entertainment venue to the famous ‘Granite City’.

To mark the occasion and underline its commitment to the local community the company has donated £5,000 to Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).

The charity recently launched a nationwide appeal to help fund the service through its busiest time of the year.

Based at nearby Aberdeen Airport, the Charity Air Ambulance requires over £5m a year to continue operating the essential life-saving service.

Mark Schertle, chief operating officer for MERKUR Casino UK, said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating our first anniversary by contributing to a cause that is so important to our community.

“This donation is our way of expressing our appreciation for the support we have received from the people of Aberdeen and giving something back to the community.”

The SCAA’s Kate Loades added: “We are incredibly grateful for the generosity shown by MERKUR. Donations like these are essential for maintaining our operations.

“This contribution will have a direct impact on saving lives.”
